Cronobacter sakazakii is an emerging and opportunistic foodborne pathogen that causes severe infantile diseases, including meningitis, necrotizing enterocolitis, septicemia. It has been reported in numerous countries around the world, those Africa. Although it isolated from food, environmental clinical samples across Africa, most implicated source of C. infection outbreaks globe consumption contaminated powdered infant formula. many unique characteristics contribute to its survival harsh environments transmission along food chain production consumption. A potential disease outbreak caused by can increase overall burden hinder any progress managing overly strained public health situation This article presents insight into occurrence prevalence Africa's environment, pointing out route accompanying safety concerns. paper advocates for strict compliance with control measures prevent spread African countries.

The broad spectrum of foodborne infections has changed dramatically over time, as well-established pathogens have been controlled or eliminated, and new ones have emerged. The burden of foodborne disease remains substantial: one in four Americans is estimated to have a significant foodborne illness each year. The majority of these illnesses are not accounted for by known pathogens, so more must...

The ability of many bacteria to adhere to surfaces and to form biofilms has major implications in a variety of industries including the food industry, where biofilms create a persistent source of contamination. It is reported that biofilms are more resistant to antimicrobials compared to planktonic cells. The colonization of bacteria on the food processing surfaces and even the food structure, ...
